APPLICATIONS

With millions of passengers passing through transit stations daily and the constant threat of security breaches and safety issues, the need for rail level intrusion detection has never been greater! While the presence of additional transit police and sophisticated CCTV security systems are great deterrents, they cannot provide early detection like FibrMat®. Unlike other single solution intrusion detection systems, FibrMat®, allows you to utilize several different options including a real-time fiber optic based system that detects safety and security breaches before it happens, analytical intelligent video for detection of stationary objects and infra-red sensors for detecting illegally entry into hard to reach areas.

OUTDOOR DETECTION

 

Unauthorized intrusion and train derailment along tracks, piers, bridges and outdoor station platforms can now be detected well in advance. This will alert the train operator if a person has entered onto the track intentionally or by accident as well as to help prevent potential suicides.

SUBWAY DETECTION

 

You can detect any unauthorized subway intrusion such as someone unsafely leaning over the warning stripe, throwing an object onto the track, jumping off a station platform onto the track below or climbing over or around a security gate. Security will have early warning so the train can be stopped before reaching the station if rail security has been breached. No single detection system can do all this!

FENCED & OPEN PERIMETERS

Security along open train tracks and fenced perimeters has been a long time problem. Motorists attempt to beat trains through gates, unsupervised children ride bicycles and play on the tracks, vandals are constantly trying to cause damage, and so on. While perimeter fencing and security cameras have been a deterrent, FibrMat® can actually reduce crime and prevent tragic accidents from happening. Sensing fiber cable can be placed along fence lines, structures, direct buried alongside railroad tracks or areas not covered by security cameras. This will allow you to detect unauthorized intrusion, vehicles on left on tracks and train derailment.

TUNNELS & PORTALS

Unauthorized entry into tunnels or portals used by mass transit agency's has become an ever increasing problem. Transit agencies worldwide have been seeking an advanced intrusion detection to guard against such intrusion. With FibrMat®, unauthorized intrusion into tunnels or portals can now be detected before someone can cause damage to the rail system. This gives security early warning and can help prevent a crime before it happens.

FLEXIBILITY

Any FibrMat® solution can be installed in zones and can easily integrate with existing security camera's to immediately pan, tilt and zoom into the exact location of the breach. If a breach is out of range for a security camera, the breach will be identified in its particular zone.

Managing the installation is a snap. We can handle all of the installation process for you by using our ETA® certified technicians and installers or simply oversee and certify work done by your employees. Either way, you will have the comfort of knowing that the installation was done right the first time! Our personnel adhere to the latest TIA/EIA installation standards and follow strict OSHA safety guidelines.

MAINTENANCE

Once FibrMat® is installed (as part of our optional service agreement), we will be there to maintain it for you! Day or night, we will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (if necessary) to ensure that no service is lost to a single customer!
