Transportation signage for the most part has been
simple text with video images on an LED board, scrolling so quickly
that passengers have little chance, if any, to read it. The LED
text is often blurry, non-interactive and unable to be distributed
in multiple languages. As the result, passengers have no idea
about arrival and departure times, destinations, safety regulations,
emergency evacuation procedures and so on. This is all about to
change with the introduction of TransitVUE
Transportation Passenger Information System (TPIS)!
- Display full motion color messages such as; PSA's, safety
alerts, schedules, routes, destinations, emergency evacuation
procedures or any active custom content you wish to broadcast
- Connect multiple displays at various stations and control
them from a single point
- Broadcast messages with or without high quality stereo audio
- Overlay multiple messages at one time on the same display
- Multi-cast messages
- Enable the auto detection feature, which actively allows a
message to be broadcast when triggered (for example, when a
train crosses a certain section of track, track perimeter intrusion,
emergency evacuation and so forth)
- Allow 3rd party commercial advertising on your system
- Increase ridership and overall revenue
TransitVUE TPIS is based on a client-server
configuration in which the content server, (CMS-1000A
Content Server), is connected to a network of clients (Players)
via a TCP/IP network (hard wire or wireless). The content server,
typically based at a central location, is where the content to
be shown is put in a play list. The content server communicates
to each player independently (uni-casting), or distributes content
simultaneously to any number of Players (multi-casting). This
local file sharing mechanism reduces the cost of content distribution
and reduces the cost of ownership for the whole system. Content
can be configured to have every display in the network running
"synchronously" or each display can run independently. As the
scheduled content is displayed, the client software on the Player
generates log files with information on what content has been
shown. This information is fed back to the server to be viewed
by the operator for billing and tracking purposes.
The Sign Server management
software allows real time distribution of multiple images, full
motion video and sound formats to be displayed. Sign Server is
easy to use and enables the creation of dynamic, engaging presentations
providing enhanced personalization and effectiveness of branding
messages.
TransitVUE TPIS includes a wide variety of
display sizes and technologies, when coupled with the management
software, users can create, schedule, and manage dynamic content
from a central or local environment which can react to time and
events in a regional, local or site specific environment. Activity
is logged on-site and reported back centrally. Reports can be
created to show daily, weekly or monthly activity. In addition,
Users can access full reporting to monitor system run-logs to
ensure that the network is operating at its full potential.
From content creation to system design and installation
to network management, our end-to-end solution supports all aspects
of the systems. Incidence reporting relays local schedule changes
back to administration. Network monitors can be put in place,
which will notify the operator automatically of issues with the
network, displays or content.
TransitVUE TPIS is a low cost, simple way of
distributing Content, Data and Display commands over Wireless
and Ethernet networks. By utilizing an open architecture, the
TransitVUE TPIS will create efficiencies in network development
and lower costs by integrating existing systems such as SCADA
and PA and reducing system management time. The TransitVUE
TPIS solution can generate revenue for you by allowing 3rd party
advertising on your system. Depending on the size of your system,
your ROI can be in as little as 18 months. Revenues generated
after this period can be used towards funding additional projects
without using taxpayer money!
TransitVUE TPIS displays are
available in various sizes and configurations from industry leading
manufacturers, so you're in charge of displaying your messages.
Now YOU can manage your costs, deliver stunning public display
performance, and adapt to multiple applications with ease.
TransitVUE TPIS series of media
players are not only reliable, they are robust and easy to
install. A TransitVUE media player
is required for use with TransitVUE TPIS
displays to enable them to show content.
The Sign Server system
management software has an easy-to-use, graphic interface that
enables play lists to be composed, edited and then sent to the
TransitVUE TPIS media players.
